Also-ran analysis

Lately, though I've been continuing to get my share of money finishes, I've noticed that the average of my out of the money finishes has been on the decline. When you don't make the money, it really shouldn't matter what place you come in, but to me it kind of does. The more riskily you play, the higher your percentages of 4th, 5th, and 6th place finishes will be. The way to make money in sit and gos, long term, is not to play too riskily. So it's a little disconcerting to me to see the average of my also-ran finishes getting bigger. In the glory days of last November, my also-ran average ran about 3.7. Currently, it's running about 4.4. I need to dial back a bit on my risk-taking.
