IG;WS is my shorthand for "In Good; Went South", which in turn is short for "I got my money in good, but the hand went south on me" :-)

This is an excerpt from my January 13, 2015 post. Last Wednesday, my session ended with an IG;WS hand. I'd been dealt a big slick, and was up against an opponent who'd been dealt AJo (ace jack offsuit). I was a 70% favorite before the flop, an 80% favorite after the flop, and a 90% favorite after the turn. However, my opponent spiked a jack on the river, and I was gone in a New York minute. Whatcha gonna do?

This is an excerpt from my January 13, 2015 post. Last night, I hit the rail on an IG;WS hand. I was dealt K5o (king five offsuit), and paired both my hole cards on the flop. I shoved and got one caller. He turned over rockets, making me a 3 to 1 favorite to win the hand. The turn was a blank, but the river put a pair on the board, and that was all she wrote. To add insult to injury, there were 10 minutes left in the late registration period, so I registered a 0th place.

IG;WS

On Friday night, on the final hand of the session, I got my money in good, but the hand went south on me. That's why I'm reusing shorthand from earlier this year for the title of this post. As a refresher, it stands for In Good; Went South. How good did I get my money in? Almost as good as it's possible to get it in. I was a 90.91% favorite after the turn, but my opponent hit a four outer on the river. Compounding the pain was the fact that I'd already hit the felt once earlier in the session, so the second time brought my losses up to an even $100,000. I knew it would be foolhardy to reup again, so I didn't.

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 110 hands and saw flop:
 - 21 out of 25 times while in big blind (84%)
 - 18 out of 25 times while in small blind (72%)
 - 33 out of 60 times in other positions (55%)
 - a total of 72 out of 110 (65%)
 Pots won at showdown - 6 of 29 (20%)
 Pots won without showdown - 17

Getting your money in good has two prerequisites:

1. you go all in
2. you're a significant favorite to win

On last night's final hand, a PLO one, I got the money in good after flopping a set of aces. I was a 60.12% favorite after the flop, and a 72.50% favorite after the turn. However, my opponent hit his flush on the river, and I bubbled in third place.
