There was a time, about 6 years or so ago, when I didn't believe there
was such a thing as a bad beat. Silly me :-) Not only is there such a
thing, but there's a whole menagerie of them; some are much worse than
others. Perhaps the very worst of the lot is the runner runner bad beat.
That's when the underdog improbably hits running cards on the turn and
river to win the pot.
Last night, I hit the rail when I got runner runnered. I was dealt Tc Qh and the flop came Td Ac Th. My opponent had been dealt 9d 2d. I was a 96.87% favorite to win the pot, but my opponent hit runner runner diamonds. In related news, my blue distance grew to exactly three million.
