I've mentioned magic flushes, and how much I hate them, several times before. The magic flush has a near relation, and I hate it just as much. It's the magic straight. That's a hand where an opponent you have dominated hits a straight on the river, with four of the five cards coming from the board. Last night, I hit the rail when I was magic straighted. I was dealt an ace and a ten, and was up against an opponent who'd been dealt an ace and an eight. Result? Yet another 0th place :-(
