Last minute 0th place

It's never fun to record a 0th place. It's hard to say when's the least fun time to record one, however. In general, the more minutes which remain in the late registration period, the worse I feel. But that's not a hard and fast rule. Last night, I hit the rail with just one minute left in the late registration period, and I felt plenty bad :-)
