Already, after only having played 21 MTT 8-games, I feel like I have a really good idea of how to play them, and how they go down. They have two distinct parts, which I call Sanityville and Crazytown. Sanityville in general lasts a lot longer than Crazytown. Sanityville is what enables you to make the money; in the Sanityville part of an MTT, it behooves you to play cautiously and conservatively. This can take you far, but only so far, and not a step further. Once you've made the money, the blinds have escalated to the point when you can no longer play conservatively. This is the Crazytown part of an MTT, and there's a lot more variance here. To put it bluntly, there's a lot more luck and a lot less skill involved in Crazytown. That's why I don't like it as much. However, Crazytown is the same for everyone, so nobody can complain. Last night, I placed 8th out of 99 players, so I had an awesome Sanityville and a mediocre Crazytown.
