Failure to launch

There are many ways to register a 0th place in a tournament, and some are more shameful than others. Last night, I registered a 0th place in one of the more shameful ways. The tournament had a 49 minute late registration period, and I joined with six minutes left. It should have been duck soup to last such a short period of time, but I hit the rail just four minutes after I joined. I'll eat my hat if I don't outlast the late registration period tonight.

Failure to launch

Last night, I was dealt rockets twice in less than 100 hands, over four times their expected frequency. Unfortunately, they failed to launch either time. I'd gone all in with them the second time, so it was another instance of "aces out". I outlasted the late registration period, but failed to make it to station 2. All in all, a thoroughly mediocre session :-)

Failure to launch

One of the attractions of 8-game is how easy it is, in general, to last a long time. That's why it's so shocking the rare times when you barely manage to last a New York minute :-) Last night was one of those times. I lasted a mere 12 hands, miles away from my average of 70. I'll eat my hat if I don't last longer tonight :-)
