Last night, I had pocket queens twice. The first time I got them, I got crippled in the massive field MTT NLHE I'd entered to start the session. It was the most massive field I've been in so far - 1,464 players. I was up against two opponents, and was a 68.44% favorite after the flop, but one of my opponents hit a set of eights on the turn and they held up. I won a minuscule side pot of 26 chips from the other opponent; that allowed me to play one more hand before hitting the felt.
The second time I got pocket queens, I was playing a sit and go NLHE. This time, they held up, and I went on to win that tournament. From famine to feast :-) One thing I'll try to avoid the next time I join a massive field MTT is the 9-max variety; I just didn't happen to notice it this time. 9-max has much more variance than 6-max.
